Who are you? Who! Who!

Our family likes to attend community events like high school and college sports in the Helena area. A few weeks ago, we decided to go to the Carroll College basketball games. We went last year when they played Westminster College from Salt Lake, because a student from my very first year of teaching was playing for Westminster. He was an eighth grader in 1998 and was now a senior in college. I talked to him at the game and he remembered me. It was funny now to see him as a 24 year old grown up, but he looked the same, just a little bigger. So, we decided to the game this year even though he had graduated, because Westminster is one of the higher ranked teams for the NAIA Frontier Conference. Rori just goes to basketball games for the mascots and the food. Rori is terrified of actually being near the mascots, so she yells at them from afar. Hey, dog!! (Carroll's mascot) Rylie goes for the mascots, food, free t-shirts and balls as well, but isn't afraid of mascots anymore. In fact, apparently we had been to a few too many games in a short amount of time. Before we left, Rori wanted to know if the tiger and the bear were going to be there. We went to crosstown basketball here and the mascots are the Bengals(aka tiger) and the Bruins (aka bear).
So, last year at this particular game, a certain basketball legend had made an appearance and I thought maybe he would again this year. I tucked my camera into my purse hoping for the best. Last year, I was the first to spot said celebrity and as luck would have it, I was again standing in the doorway when he walked into the gym.
I'm not going to tell you who it is. You have to identify him yourself!

Did you get it yet??

Birthday Fun!

Rori celebrated her birthday on Jan. 31st. We had a family party on Saturday with Bapa Jay, Bapa Denise, Bapa Helen, and Bapa Ruben, and Charlie. Bapa is what Rori says for Grandpa and Grandma. It is really quite cute. She got to go to Applebee's for lunch and they sang to her. Then she got to go shopping for some new clothes. Finally we had pizza and opened presents, followed by cake and ice cream. She had a ball.

5 going on 15??

Rylie is a funny girl. She loves school and she is loving to read in kindergarten. She is very picky about her clothes and has to wear gym clothes on gym day so she can do the "warrior" pose. I asked her what that was and she proceeded to show me her fiercest warrior pose. I didn't get a picture of that but can now see why she needs flexible clothing. She did however get some new fashion items when grandma came to town. Check her out!
